Adidas has been the official ball provider for the World Cup since 1970, and for this year’s World Cup it will give the official ball a technological boost in Russia. The fact is, a simple football can hold a lot of technology.
They have recovered the classic Telstar design and given it a twist with modern advances in terms of materials and technology, starting with an NFC chip that allows fans to interact with the ball, receiving personalized information.
They have also managed to make its structure far more symmetric by applying only six panels for its manufacture, which fit perfectly together and join to make one seamless surface.
Now it’s just up to the players to control it!
