It is interesting to comment, from the very beginning, that the company LittleMissMatch was born from an idea that although seeming stupid at first sight, has proven to be both brilliant and successful.
More than one reader of this blog probably has felt in more than one occasion to be stupid when, looking to his feet, he discovered that, bloody hurry, he had socks of different color on his feet. At LittleMissMatch, they are convinced that two socks of different color are not necessarily “unpaired”; but at LittleMissMatch they do not stop here; they re-think also the concept of pair: why have socks to be sold in pairs of two. The sell socks in “pairs of three”.
The output is a funny idea already working as a successful corporate project in the United States, Great Britain and Japan.
On top of all what we have already mentioned, what caught our attention is the fact that from its website, the company is promoting Project Sock, a design contest for the fans of LittleMissMatch. An excellent way of searching new ideas for their products, creating at the same time brand image among its fans
The contest will have two phases. During the first phase, until February, 11th, fans may send their designs to the company. In the second phase, the designers will publish the selection of 24 of them on the web, so that every user may vote his favorites. Remark: you only may participate if you are a US resident.
The winning design will be included in the LittleMissMatch collection. The author will get also 500 US $ and five packs of (3) socks with his own design. The winner will be elected by the fans of the brand, that is, the users of the web.
We have found notice of this contest at the web fibre2fashion
