Although virtual reality is something the greater public has only recently gained access to, thanks to brands like Samsung, Microsoft, HTC, Sony, Google and Oculus, we now have the possibility of enjoying our own virtual experiences through a “simple” pair of glasses.
But some have looked to take this one step further by extending the possibility of a virtual reality system under water. This has brought us Nautilus VR. Its Spanish creator, Juan Barambones, had the idea because he thought that this would be a great way for someone living in a city without sea to experience the sensation of diving in distant and exotic waters. So thanks to these glasses, we can “enjoy” an exotic Caribbean sea, surrounded by fish and coral reefs, from our swimming pool.
This is only the beginning of what is still a prototype. Even so, this is a fantastic and innovative example of what we can dream of, and the endless possibilities offered by virtual reality.
