The magazine Actualidad Económica has released its issue 2061, containing a list with the 100 best ideas of the year 2007, wherein the most brilliant, useful and innovative products and services presented last year are compiled.
For the selection of ideas, the organisers have based themselves on different criteria, the most important of which were innovation, the quality of the product, the exclusivity of the service or the product’s pioneering nature within its sector
The website of Actualidad Económica magazine shows the listing of all the ideas and companies selected. What I have seen on the website has failed to strike me as especially noteworthy, and the overall feeling I got was of very well known companies appearing as the awardees, or of little known companies that were, however, not that innovative. It would be good to know about the process used for the selection of ideas.
All the same, it seems to me highly positive that such contests should be organised to promote the creation of new and innovative ideas and give all due recognition to those persons or services who have been engaged on a day-to-day basis in efforts to improve their products or services. It also seems to me positive for the recognition it brings to such projects and for it being possible for them to show this award as a differential element. This is one of the things I have noticed when visiting the website of some of the companies awarded: the importance given to the fact of having received this prize.
