The Twitter initiative #MuseumWeek has created a week-long dialogue about museums and their future. We really appreciated this suggestion at ideas4all, because we have loads of ideas on the subject and because it completely fits in with our spirit of Open Innovation, which we truly believe in. We can all contribute ideas and build on them!
And others, like the Centro de Museos in the Spanish autonomous region of Castilla y León (@museoscastyleon) consider the suggestion of a cultural ring to be a “great idea”, and “very ambitious”. This cultural ring would connect all museums in the region with one common brand image and communication policy. The idea of a bus that connects all museums had already been developed, but they have taken note of all other suggestions, because innovating is not just innovating…it’s also improving what is already there.
That is probably where we have found our greatest source of satisfaction: seeing how many museums believe in Open Innovation, as they do in the Museo Thyssen (@EducaThyssen) and in the cultural center LABoral in Gijón (@LABoral).
From here, we want to send a big thank you to all #MuseumWeek supporters and participants, for their efforts in advertising and improving the enormous quality of our museums. The discussion has been fascinating.
