Mobile Games Innovation Challenge is an ideas contest organized by Nokia, which has a prize funding of € 70,000 and directed to companies and professionals dedicated to the development of videogames in order for them to propose new innovative creations for their mobile platform N-Gage
Nokia seems determined to revitalize this device, of which some time ago it was rumored that it would be discontinued and closed. With this announcement it seems it will now have a second and new opportunity to make some business sense. It entails joining together the mobile and the portable console of videogames. The world of the videogames, in all its conceptions, is becoming one of the most dynamic and profitable ones at world-wide level, more so than the cinema and music. Hence it is very reasonable to see great companies like Nokia wanting to participate and promoting as leaders the next steps in this joint businesses challenges.
The contest is not expecting designers of videogames to contribute with new creations but rather to promote novel ideas that later could become compatible with videogames, using java platforms or Symbian of the 40 Series or S60 Nokia series.
The companies and independent designers interested to participate in this initiative have until the month of August to present/display their ideas/proposals. Another incentive to participate in the Mobile Games Innovation Challenge is that the best designers of videogames will receive job offers to work in Nokia Publishing, the department of Nokia responsible for promoting the contest.
