Registration term is open now for inscriptions in the Young Innovative Company Award, organized by the foundation Fundación Zaragoza Ciudad del Conocimiento. The objective is giving support and recognition to young innovative companies (in Spanish, JEI) in Spanish universities. More precisely, the Award wants to promote innovative culture and to give recognition to efforts to create and implement ideas within the universities, as well as supporting new innovative ideas as a way to actively contribute to the dinamization and stimulation of progress within the university environment.
Young companies, with less than six years of history, may participate. They have to be small enterprises (less than 50 employees) and with strong I+D activities. In fact, these awards want to promote the existence of companies with innovative character, based on knowledge.
The following aspects will be taken into account: entrepreneurial leadership, social commitment, job creation, products and contribution to the creation of strategic clusters. The prize consists in 6.000 Euro.
The term for registration of documents ends on April, 20th, 2009. Registration can be made online on this form. After an initial screening, the finalists will be invited to a public event on May, 6tjh, 2009. During that event, the winner will be announced and the prize handed over.
