Invent Now is an internet community dedicated to the promotion of the inventor spirit of younger people. The event is an initiative of the organizations Invent, Ad Council and the United States Patent and Trade Mark Office.
The focus of this community is very clear: in order to protect their ideas, inventors should pursue the patent for their inventions. The website explains the procedure for patent filings and is very divulgative, so that the process may be understood by younger visitors.
Invent Now is looking after the parents and teachers in order that they become accomplices and help younger people to participate in the community; their role of support can be key when the efforts to invent get weaker or when the ideas have to be redirected.
With the help of the Invent Foundation, this organization prepares also events like inventor’s camps
for kids. In these camps, inventors work together with the kids to help them foster attitudes and capabilities for developing their own inventions.
Six challenges are presented, and each youngster can present his own ideas. Among these challenges, there is e.g. one challenge for the Beijing Olympic Games without expiry date: How would you get Olympians fresh air during competition without slowing them down? One may see the ideas and suggestions of other youngsters from all over the world; to edit your ideas, one has only to register.
