Jari Hazelebach, CEO and co-founder of SpeakSee, is the son of two deaf parents, a circumstance that is behind the inspiration for this device that allows people with hearing difficulties or hearing loss to participate in group conversations without limitations.
It does so thanks to a system that uses small smart microphones that are easy to place on clothes, using voice recognition to transcribe conversations onto a smartphone, TV or videoconference system in real time.
It is only available in English for now, but this is undoubtedly a big step forward that will make many lives easier and more inclusive.
