During October 17th and 18th, the International Congress on Creativity and Innovation will be held in Portugal. This event was born in the frame of the Portuguese-Spanish common space and it wants to be the culture medium for creativity and innovation within a responsible and sustainable corporate world.
This year, the focus of the congress will be the discovery by both countries of “new worlds” in Latin America and Africa, reflecting basically on what those “new worlds” could add to globalization, which too often is menacing the identity of each country. The following question arises: “Could the common Latin-American space add some really innovative aspects to the construction of the European space?”
The goals are:
– To share research and experiences currently developed in different fields of creativity and innovation
– To rethink formulas of cooperation between the Latin-American common space and Europe, which promote a culture of solidarity and respect for diversity
– To build bridges between the different areas of creativity, and its transformation into innovation in the corporate organizations
The congress is structured in a series of areas, within which workshops are held to promote competitiveness and efficiency of corporations. Attention will also be given to present ideas, proposals and problems experienced by companies, all within the frame of relationship between both countries.
Workshops are distributed by areas, like organization and companies, arts, daily life, education, communication, science and technology. Within the program, one may find also activities of cultural expression, like art exhibitions and artistic performances. We may highlight the opening speech: “Relationships between creativity and innovation within the R&D centers of large corporations”. Speakers will be Alcino Lavrador (Executive President of PT Innovación), Fernando Fournon Barcia (Executive President of Telefónica I&D and José Silva e Sousa (Vice President of the Fundación Luso-Española) in the role of a moderator.
Within the event, the prizes “Ciudad Creativa 2008” and “Ricardo Marín” will be handed over. The second prize is awarded to an outstanding personality within the field of creativity and innovation in the frame of cooperation between both countries.
