This could well be the future of urban transport. The idea behind this bus is simply brilliant and it comes from China, where traffic jams are so massive that innovation has become a continuous necessity in order to
decongest roads and reduce air pollution. This new vehicle is called the Transit Elevated Bus (TEB) and it completely avoids traffic because it travels above it. Thanks to its height it can drive over vehicles, which are unaffected by the bus. New bus stops will also change greatly, as they would be moved to elevated and more protected areas. The Transit Elevated Bus has a capacity for 1,200 passengers and is powered by electricity and solar energy. Its creators claim that it is five times cheaper than building an underground metro line and that it can be finished and ready for use in one year. It is still a concept, but a small
model has already been presented at the International High-Tech Expo in Beijing to demonstrate all its potential.
