123 ideas that offer alternative ways to move around town

July 8, 2010

In our previous featured problem in the ideas4all homepage, we asked users: Which alternative means of transportation can be promoted in cities? We’re sure you can still come up with an idea, and are in time to publish it here.

Well then, we have obtained no less than 123 ideas suggesting possible solutions. It seems ideators have been using their imagination to come up with new ways of moving around town.

Ideas go from electric vehicles in idea (61340) A good alternative to (61367) Making it easy to buy electric skateboards or Segway “Skateboard Dispenser”

Another proposal was (61376) BRIDGES FOR PEDESTRIAN STREET CROSSING, suggesting traffic lights could be removed, thus improving traffic congestion.

Going back to using streetcars or hiring (61489) Company micro-buses for workers.

And why not?  (63982)  Bicycles that store power to be used when riding uphill. People would not tire as much and would use their bike more often.

You can see all the ideas that solve the problem “Alternative ways to move around town” here.

We have a new Challenge of the Month and a new featured Problem!

July 6, 2010

With only a few days remaining of the Soccer World Cup in South Africa, we’re sure you’ve had hundreds of ideas that would make the world of soccer much better. Ideas that would make us enjoy this sport even more. Now the Challenge of the Month is your chance to share these ideas.
You can participate with your ideas until July 31st.

Also new is our featured problem, where we are looking for your ideas to help keep the environment clean. Under the title “Oil spills and pollution. Can you think of ways to help?”, we would like to encourage you to take part, so that between all of us, we can contribute good ideas that might help conserve nature and its delicate Eco-systems. There are already close to 5,400 ideas in the environment category, showing a great awareness and will to cooperate amongst ideas4all’s ideators.

The autonomous region of Valencia and ideas4all launch: Ideas Challenge

April 19, 2010

ideas4all and the Organization of Valencia’s Day for the Entrepreneuring Individual launch the Ideas Challenge, a new competition giving you the chance to make your idea come true. As always, we want to support people with an idea in its initial phase, but without the means to get it going.

This is a good opportunity for anyone with an innovative idea. One of the requisites is that your idea must encourage the development of products or services that are useful to society and that, if implemented by the autonomous region of Valencia, is economically viable.

You can participate by publishing your ideas before 14:00 hours on May 17th, 2010. A Technical Commission will be responsible for evaluating and choosing, to its best judgment, the 10 “business ideas” it considers have the highest quality and that will go on to become finalists, based on certain criteria for evaluation. And finally, on May 18th, 2010, the specialized jury designated by the Organizing Committee of the Day for the Entrepreneuring Individual of the autonomous region of Valencia, will announce the name of the winner.

The winner will win 1500€, which will get the idea on its way, but will also receive the consultancy of Valencia’s CEEI Network, who will offer the winner technical advise in the drawing out of a business plan and will inform him/her of possible financing sources, grants, etc.
To find out more, visit Ideas Challenge.

Come on and participate!
