WebSeriesFestival, now you can be the director of a series on the Internet

March 16, 2010

webseriesfestival

The amount of on-line series, that can be enjoyed only through the Internet, grows every day, proof of which is the creation of Nikodemo.tv, a website solely dedicated to the broadcast of on-line series. Here’s a video telling you a little more about Nikodemo.tv.

Now they bring us an interesting contest, the WebSeriesFestival, an on-line competition for pilot episodes of web series, where you have the chance to become the director of your very own screenplay.

As of this past Saturday February 22nd, until May 16th, you can take part in the WebSeriesFestival. This is your shot at directing that little script you’ve written or that idea that’s been on your mind. There are only 3 conditions for you to take part:
- You must be 18 or older.
- The series must be original or you must own the rights.
- The video must be no shorter than 4 minutes and no longer than 7, including the credits.

This is a good opportunity to get off to a shiny start in the world of internet series, as the first 3 prizes include seeing your series broadcasted on nikodemo.tv’s channels, as well as substantial amounts of prize-money:

First prize: 6,000€, Second prize: 3,000€, and Third prize: 1,500€. Fourth prize will win 700€ and fifth 350€.

Public voting will make up a list of finalists that will be appraised by a very interesting jury, including personalities such as Isabel Coixet, Sebas Muriel, Nacho Vigalondo and Joaquin Reyes among others.

You will find all the information you need to participate here.

Big Bang Challenge Winner

January 28, 2010

We can now announce the winner of the first edition of the Big Bang Challenge. The winner’s name is Heriberto Madrigal, of  American nationality, whose idea, “A single database for all peer-reviewed research” has etched out competition from the other candidates and managed to win first spot in our challenge.

“The selection was not easy. The International Jury has deliberated until the last moment and the competition for first place has continued until the very end. It was very hard for us to discard other excellent ideas that also deserved the award, but we are sure we are giving our support to a project that, according to the experts in our jury, is the best.”

Now all that is left is for the winner,  to sign a cooperation agreement with ideas4all, specifying how the money will be delivered, 25,000€ to put the idea into practice, and begin covering the expenses of starting up the project.

We at ideas4all would like to congratulate Heriberto Madrigal and offer all our encouragement in this entrepreneuring phase he or she is embarking upon.

And how about you, do you have a business idea? You do? Well, don’t worry, because there will surely be more editions of the BBChallenge.

The importance of social networks, twitter and various events: Twitter interview in 1400 characters.

November 28, 2009

It is an obvious fact that personal and professional relations are currently living a golden age. And it is unquestionable that the Internet has something to do with this.
Thanks to Social Media, such as Facebook, witter, Linkedin…and various other networks, we are only a click away from meeting great, and not so great, people (let’s not kid ourselves, we can find all types in the Internet…).
These digital encounters often help us give life a conspirational wink  ;-)
People who, like ourselves, use words, twitts, posts, and belong to different communities and groups, that manage to provoke an admiring exclamation in us (!), as well as help us see reality as it is, as it should be and, occasionally, as it shall be.
Today’s journalist is @cimino and the interviewee in this Twitter interview is @anamaríallopis

Concepts such as Social Networks, Transparency, Democratization of ideas, Innovation, Web 2.0, Authenticity, Community and Crowdsourcing are a reality, and when spoken, or rather twitted, by Ana María Llopis, they make me think of her project, Ideas4ll, a site she puts her heart and soul into. If we look for a word to describe this concept, we can only think of Passion, and if we dig deeper into her project, the bigbangchallenge, we come up with the concept of Innovation.

Lastly, with respect to the final question of the interview, I agree completely that “one has to measure oneself against him or herself”, this is for me the road to success. That “chance helps the prepared mind”, as the interviewee says, seems to me very true, and I would add that learning to overcome obstacles -be these represented by people or situations- make us stronger and drive our lives forward.

I invite you to read the interview and come up with your own conclusions.
