Bancaja 2009 Awards for Young Entrepreneurs

July 2, 2009

Here we are, back once again with a new award: this one is rather traditional compared to others we often tell you about. It is traditional because it rewards the possibility of transforming an idea into a business, over the idea in itself, and traditional also because, this year, the award reaches its 15th edition, a challenge that is hard to beat.

A long tradition does not, of course, take away any of these awards’ importance, which value not only young entrepreneurs with good ideas, but those who know how to use their ideas to create wealth and employment in their social environment, and are ready to do so by turning their idea into a business.

As we say in the post’s title, this is the fifteenth edition of the Bancaja Young Entrepreneur Awards (Premios Bancaja Jóvenes Emprendedores), organized by Bancaja, a bank from eastern Spain, with the objective of contributing to the socio-economic development of its area of action, promoting a spirit of entrepreneurship, endorsing innovation and diversification, and supporting young people’s business initiatives.

To do so they have assigned 425,000 Euros in prizes, which will be distributed in the following manner:
- Five 30,000 Euro prizes and five 15,000 euro prizes, for technology-related businesses that are already in operation.
- Ten 10,000 Euro prizes, for traditional businesses or businesses focusing on improving society, that are already in operation.
- Twenty 5,000 Euro prizes for initiatives that have not yet been carried out, but that present a well-developed business plan.

If you think that you, or someone around you, have business ideas that can opt to one of these prizes, you have until June 30th to submit your projects with all the documentation requested in the award’s terms and conditions, in any Bancaja office or at their Social Project Fund offices.

All submitted projects will be studied exhaustively area by area: marketing, production, human resources, commercialization, the business’s legal form, and finance.
