Efiquest is looking for the most respectful consumer with the environment. For each registered user, Union Fenosa will donate 1 € to the NGO Acción Natura.

Many are the sectors in society which are interested in and concerned with the evolution of the planet´s environment, especially with those aspects related with the global warming and climate change.
Without any wish to open controversy, and regardless of the diversity of opinions among scientists, without any doubt the idea that has impacted society most is the importance of taking care on environment. The involvement of everybody in his daily actions is considered to be crucial to achieve this target.
Either because of true concern or because of economic interest (the green label “sells” very good), there are many initiatives coming up promoting actions in favor of the socially accepted environmental care.
In this context emerges the initiative we are going to comment on. The company Unión Fenosa is organizing a contest through the website Efiquest, inviting everybody to revise and put at question our habits and our knowledge on questions like the efficient use of energy, the reduction of CO2 emissions, etc. Only has to be registered on the website.
Several categories have been established: individuals, groups, schools and companies. Each category may win its own prize: a trip to Brazil in the case of individuals, a portable PC for each group member or employee of the company and an iPod for each scholar.
The contest consists of a questionnaire of 10 questions on energy efficiency, good habits, energy labeling, efficient driving and recycling. Up to 10 tests may be filled (in total, there are more than 700 questions prepared). You may also challenge or be challenged by others, to “steal” points from other participants.
This is a participative project, where users can challenge other users, create groups or see their scoring, and compete on their knowledge of the tested issues.
For each registered user, Unión Fenosa will donate 1 Euro to the NGO “Acción Natura”. For each blog or website referring to this contest or campaign, the company will donate 5 Euro more to this NGO. During last year´s edition, 64.000 Euro in total were collected to assist reforestation projects in Brazil. The objective of this year´s edition is to collect 84.000 Euro in total.
From the social point of view, “the objective is that every person may learn in a practical and funny way on this issue, and apply the learned to his daily life”, as María Pérez, Responsable de Residencial y Pymes del Centro de Eficiencia Energética de UNION FENOSA) says. Thanks to Efiquest, the strategy of Union Fenosa of positioning itself as an electricity company respectful with the environment consolidates.
